The annual competitive selection of projects for fundamental and applied scientific research, scientific and technical and experimental developments with the participation of higher education institutions and scientific institutions under the management of the Ministry of Education and Science is ongoing. Implementation and financing of research under the budget program "Scientific and scientific and technical activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions" will begin in 2021.
The first stage of the competition will be held by November 25, 2020 in the unified information system "Science in Universities" in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science. The next step, from December 2 to 25, will be the consideration and approval of the results of the examination of research and development projects at the meetings of sections in professional areas and at the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science. The results of the competitive selection will be announced by January 8, 2021.
This year, preference will be given to projects aimed at increasing the defense capability and national security of the state.
The minimum cost per year of planned research or development is 300 thousand hryvnias, and the maximum is 1,500 thousand hryvnias. Each higher education institution or scientific institution must submit projects for the competition, the total planned cost of which per year does not exceed 150% of the amount of funds released in 2020.
We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft budget, in which it is proposed to allocate UAH 820.5 million for scientific and scientific and technical activities of higher education institutions and scientific institutions in 2021.
