Start of the Ukrainian Scientific and Technological Foresight project
On July 31, 2024, a founding meeting of the organizational and methodological groups of thematic areas of the project "Ukrainian Scientific and Technological Foresight" was held to begin a forecast and analytical study of the most promising areas of science and technology development in Ukraine, which is being conducted by the Institute in accordance with the instructions of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine (Order of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine No. 442 of 8 August 2024 PDF) jointly with the NGO "Foresight. Institute of Political Economy" and with the support of the Representative Office in Ukraine of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The purpose of this study is:
Clarification of the lists of priority research by thematic areas, taking into account the changes that have occurred in Ukrainian and world science as a result of the development of science and technology - on the one hand, and as a result of the large-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine - on the other.
Collection of proposals for the most relevant interdisciplinary research programs of possible technological breakthrough of Ukraine for the next 5-10 and 10-15 years.
Identification and discussion of new ideas regarding the mechanisms for implementing the state's scientific, technical and innovation policy regarding priority areas and programs, emphasizing non-standard ideas and alternative approaches to the development of the country's innovation system.
We hope to achieve a more complete compliance with the latest development trends, as well as the real possibilities of Ukrainian science by significantly expanding the circle of experts, as well as by involving scientists working abroad (mainly from Ukraine) in their number.
