1. Philosophy of science / Ryzhko Larysa. The topology of science / Dobrov Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies. Kyiv: Alfa-M, 2009. 512 pp. (29.76 standard printed sheets). Print run: 300. ISBN 978-966-02-5388-9.

The space of science is a particular place, or topos, in which scientific propositions (knowledge) and institutions exist, each with its own “places”, “structures” and “functions”. They are therefore perceived phenomenologically as “here”, “now” or Heidegger’s “Dasein”. Even when considering the temporal or historical existence of scientific space, its “being” has meaning only as a particular place or topos—that is, as space. What “was” is not itself science: it is a particular text. For that text to be “scientific”, a researcher must carry out the relevant scientific procedures within the space of science. There is no science without a researcher. This is the central idea of the monograph. Science is understood as the topos of researchers’ activities; this approach to studying science is expressed through the concept of the “topology of science”.

1. Economics and sociology / Malitskyi B.A. Neoliberalism and the crisis in innovation-driven economic development. The crisis formula / Dobrov Centre for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies. Kyiv: Feniks, 2009. 64 pp. (3.84 standard printed sheets). Print run: 300. ISBN 978-966-651-735-0.

For the first time in Ukrainian scholarship, the work analyses how neoliberal market relations affect innovation-driven economic development. It argues that their overall impact is negative because neoliberalism tends to displace innovation as a primary source of economic growth and elevate financial capital to that role, making it a relatively independent means of accumulating profit. However, such capital accumulation, weakly connected to actual material production, is largely fictitious.
